About Wincdkey & Our Products

What is Wincdkey?

Wincdkey Ltd is a UK-registered online retailer of genuine digital software licence keys, including Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suites, antivirus software, AutoDesk products, EaseUS tools, and more. We are a verified Microsoft Partner, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15530488).

Are the software licence keys sold by Wincdkey genuine and legal?

Yes, 100%. All licence keys sold by Wincdkey are genuine, authentic products sourced through legitimate channels. We operate in full compliance with UK and EU law, including the CJEU UsedSoft ruling (Case C-128/11), which establishes the legality of reselling software licences. For a full explanation of the legal framework, visit our EU Law & Authentication page. You can also verify our Microsoft Partner status directly on Microsoft’s website.

Why are your prices lower than buying directly from Microsoft?

We purchase software licences in large volumes directly through our supply chain, which allows us to secure significantly lower unit costs than standard retail pricing. Because we sell digitally — with no physical packaging, discs, or shipping costs — we pass those savings on to our customers. The licences themselves are identical in quality and functionality to keys sold at full retail price.

What types of products does Wincdkey sell?

We sell digital software licence keys across the following categories:

Can I read reviews from other Wincdkey customers?

Yes. You can read thousands of verified customer reviews on our Trustpilot page. Our review history provides independent confirmation of key delivery speed, activation success, and the quality of our customer support.

Ordering & Payment

How do I place an order?

Simply browse our shop, add the product you need to your cart, and proceed to checkout. You can check out as a guest or create a My Account to manage your orders and retrieve your keys at any time. After payment is confirmed, your licence key is sent to the email address you provide at checkout — usually within seconds.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a range of payment methods displayed at checkout, including major credit and debit cards. All payment data is encrypted and processed securely. Wincdkey does not store your full card details. Transactions are processed through our authorised global distributor, 1D3 DIGITECH OÜ (Estonia, register code 16515982).

Can I buy in bulk or as a business?

Yes. We supply licence keys to individuals, SMEs, IT professionals, and enterprise organisations. For multi-licence or volume purchases, visit our B2B & Wholesale page or our Enterprise Licensing page to request a quote. Bulk orders are typically fulfilled within 24 hours.

Do you offer price matching?

Yes, in some cases. If you find a lower price for an identical product from a verified, legitimate competitor, please contact us via our Help & Support Centre with the URL of the competing offer. We will review the request and confirm whether we are able to match the price. Price match requests cannot be applied retrospectively after an order has been placed.

What currencies do you accept?

We accept GBP (£), EUR (€), and USD ($). You can switch your preferred currency using the selector displayed on the Website. Prices are converted at current exchange rates and the currency shown at checkout is the one you will be charged in.

Delivery & Order Tracking

How will I receive my licence key?

All products are delivered digitally by email. Once your payment is confirmed, your licence key is sent automatically to the email address you provided at checkout — typically within seconds. There is no physical delivery, no box, and no disc. For full details, see our Shipping Policy.

How long does delivery take?

In most cases, your licence key arrives within seconds to a few minutes of payment confirmation. Orders that trigger a fraud review may take up to 24 hours. Wincdkey operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — orders placed on weekends and public holidays are processed automatically.

I haven’t received my licence key. What should I do?

If your key has not arrived within 15 minutes, please follow these steps:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder — email filters sometimes redirect order confirmation emails.
  2. Log into your account — visit your My Account page and check your order history. Your key is displayed there directly.
  3. Use Order Tracking — visit our Order Tracking page and enter your order number to check its status.
  4. Contact support — if your key is still not available, open a ticket via our Help & Support Centre and our team will resolve the issue promptly.

Can I get a physical disc or CD for the software I purchased?

No. Wincdkey sells digital products only. All software is downloaded directly from the publisher’s official website (e.g. microsoft.com, office.com) using your licence key. You can create your own backup of the installer to a USB drive or external hard drive after download if you wish.

Licence Key Types Explained

What is an OEM licence key?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) keys are typically tied to the first device they are activated on and are generally not transferable to another machine. They are full-version licences — not upgrades — and do not include manufacturer technical support. OEM keys are typically lower in price than retail keys. Always check the product listing to confirm the licence type before purchasing.

What is a Retail licence key?

A retail licence key is a fully transferable licence that can be moved from one device to another (after deactivating it on the original machine). Retail keys are the most flexible licence type and are suitable for users who may upgrade or replace their hardware in the future. Both OEM and retail keys activate through the same official Microsoft servers.

What is an MAK (Multiple Activation Key)?

An MAK (Multiple Activation Key) allows the same key to activate multiple devices, up to a set activation limit. MAK keys are commonly used by businesses and IT administrators deploying software across several machines. See our Windows 11 Pro MAK listing for an example.

What is the difference between a “Bind” key and an online activation key?

A bind key (also called a bind-to-account key) is linked to a specific Microsoft account rather than a device. Once redeemed, the licence is attached to your Microsoft account and can be accessed wherever you sign in. An online activation key is entered directly during software installation and activates against Microsoft’s servers without needing to be tied to an account. Product listings on Wincdkey clearly specify the activation method for each key.

What is the difference between a perpetual licence and a subscription licence?

A perpetual licence (such as Office 2021 or Windows 11 Pro) is a one-time purchase that gives you permanent rights to use that version of the software, with no ongoing fees. A subscription licence (such as Microsoft 365) requires a recurring payment — monthly or annually — and grants access to the latest version of the software for the duration of the subscription. Both types are available in our catalogue.

Can I install the software on more than one computer?

This depends on the licence type. Most standard retail and OEM keys are licensed for use on one device only, unless the product listing specifies otherwise (e.g. a 3-device or 5-device pack). Microsoft 365 subscriptions cover multiple devices depending on the plan. Always check the product listing for the number of permitted activations before purchasing.

Activation & Installation

How do I activate my licence key after purchase?

Step-by-step activation instructions for all products — including Windows, Office, antivirus software, and more — are available in our Installation & Activation Guide. The process generally involves downloading the software installer from the publisher’s official website and entering your key when prompted during installation or setup.

What is phone activation and when do I need it?

Phone activation (also known as offline activation) is an alternative activation method used when online activation is not available or returns an error. Microsoft’s automated phone activation system provides a Confirmation ID (CID) that completes the activation process. If you need a CID, you can use our free Phone Activation (CID) Tool to generate it without calling Microsoft directly. You can also purchase our CID service if you need assisted activation.

My licence key is not activating. What should I do?

If your key fails to activate, please do the following before contacting support:

  1. Double-check that you have entered the key exactly as provided — no extra spaces, no missing characters.
  2. Confirm that the product you purchased is compatible with your operating system and region. Check the product listing for compatibility details.
  3. Ensure your internet connection is stable and that you are activating through the correct official channel (e.g. office.com for Office, Settings → Activation for Windows).
  4. If you are seeing an error code, note it down before contacting us — this helps our support team resolve the issue faster.

If the issue persists, contact our Help & Support Centre before attempting any workarounds. Do not attempt to activate through unofficial tools or third-party activators, as this will void your eligibility for a replacement or refund.

Can I reinstall the software if my computer crashes or I get a new device?

This depends on the licence type. Retail keys are transferable and can generally be reactivated on a new device after being deactivated on the original. OEM keys are typically tied to the original hardware and may not transfer to a new machine. If you are unsure whether your key can be reactivated, contact our Help & Support Centre for assistance.

How do I verify that my copy of Microsoft Office is genuine?

After activating your Office licence, you can verify its authenticity by signing into your Microsoft account at account.microsoft.com and checking your active subscriptions and licences. Genuine keys will appear in your Microsoft account and activate without errors against Microsoft’s official servers.

How do I uninstall Microsoft Office?

On Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, find Microsoft Office in the list, and select Uninstall. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.

On Mac: Open Finder, go to the Applications folder, and drag the Microsoft Office folder to Trash. Then open Finder > Go > Go to Folder, navigate to ~/Library/Containers and ~/Library/Group Containers, and remove any folders beginning with com.microsoft. Finally, empty Trash. For a complete removal guide, visit our Installation & Activation Guide.

Upgrades & Compatibility

Can I upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using a new licence key?

If your device meets the hardware requirements for Windows 11 (TPM 2.0, compatible processor, 4GB RAM minimum, 64GB storage), you can perform a clean installation of Windows 11 using a new key purchased from Wincdkey. Alternatively, if you already have a valid Windows 10 Pro licence, Microsoft offers a free upgrade path to Windows 11 Pro through Windows Update. We also sell an upgrade key from Windows 11 Home to Pro if you need to change edition.

Can I upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro?

Yes. We sell a dedicated Windows 10 Home to Pro upgrade key that allows you to upgrade your existing Windows 10 Home installation to Pro without a clean reinstall.

Which version of Office is right for me?

Here is a quick guide to help you choose:

  • Office 2024 — the latest perpetual release. Ideal if you want the most current feature set without a subscription.
  • Office 2021 — excellent value for most home and business users. Includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Office 2019 — a solid option for users who need a lower-cost perpetual licence and don’t require the newest features.
  • Microsoft 365 — a subscription that includes the latest Office apps, 1TB OneDrive storage, and regular updates. Best if you need cloud storage and always-current software.

If you only need specific apps, we also sell individual keys for Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Visio.

Is the software I buy from Wincdkey compatible with Mac?

Some products are available for both Windows and Mac. Microsoft Office — including Office 2024 for Mac and Office 2021 for Mac — is available in Mac-specific editions. Windows operating system licences are for PC only and are not compatible with Mac. Always check the product listing for platform compatibility before purchasing.

Refunds & Returns

What is your refund policy?

Because our products are digital goods delivered instantly, refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis. A replacement key or full refund is available if a key is confirmed defective prior to successful activation. We do not offer refunds for keys that have been successfully activated, or where the issue is caused by incompatibility between the product and your device that was not disclosed in the product listing. For full details, please read our Refunds & Returns Policy.

What should I do if I want to request a refund or report a faulty key?

Contact our Help & Support Centre as soon as possible and before attempting any workarounds. Please provide your order number, the key you received, a description of the issue, and any error codes you have encountered. Our team will investigate and respond promptly.

Can I exchange a product for a different edition after purchase?

Exchanges are handled in accordance with our Refunds & Returns Policy. If you purchased the wrong edition (for example, Office 2021 Home & Student instead of Home & Business), please contact our support team before activating the key. Once a key has been activated, it cannot be exchanged.

Account & Order Management

Do I need an account to purchase from Wincdkey?

No. You can check out as a guest without creating an account. However, creating a free My Account is recommended — it allows you to view your order history, retrieve your licence keys at any time, and manage your personal details easily.

How do I find my licence key after purchase?

Your licence key is sent to the email address you provided at checkout. You can also retrieve it at any time by logging into your My Account page and viewing your order history. Use our Order Tracking tool if you need to check the status of a specific order.

I have lost access to the email I used to order. Can I still get my key?

If you created an account, log in at My Account to access your order history and retrieve your key. If you checked out as a guest, please contact our Help & Support Centre with your order number and proof of purchase and our team will assist you.
