At Wincdkey, we sell genuine digital software licence keys for Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, antivirus products, and other software titles. Because all products are delivered digitally and are activated directly with the software publisher (such as Microsoft), our refund and returns policy reflects the nature of digital goods.

1. Overview — Digital Goods Policy
All products sold by Wincdkey are digital licence keys. Once a product key has been delivered to you by email, the product has been supplied in full. Under UK and EU consumer law, the right to cancel a digital product is lost once the digital content has been delivered and the customer has acknowledged that delivery has begun.
As a result, we are generally unable to offer refunds on delivered product keys that have been revealed, copied, or activation-attempted. However, we do recognise that genuine issues can arise, and we will always work to find a fair resolution where a problem exists on our side.
2. When You Are Eligible for a Refund
You may be eligible for a full or partial refund in the following circumstances:
- The key was not delivered — Your key did not arrive by email within the expected delivery window and our support team has been unable to resend it successfully.
- The key does not work — The product key is invalid, already used, or throws a persistent activation error that our support team has been unable to resolve after reasonable troubleshooting.
- The wrong product was dispatched — You received a key for a different product or edition than the one you ordered (for example, a Windows 10 key instead of a Windows 11 key).
- Duplicate order — You were charged twice for the same order due to a payment processing error.
In these cases, please contact our support team with your order number and a description of the issue. We aim to resolve all valid refund requests promptly.
3. When You Are Not Eligible for a Refund
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
- The key has been successfully activated — Once a key has been used to activate software, the product has been consumed and cannot be refunded or exchanged.
- An activation attempt has been made — Even if activation was not completed, attempting activation means the key may be partially used or flagged by Microsoft’s systems. We cannot accept keys back in this state.
- You purchased the wrong product — For example, purchasing a Windows PC key for a Mac machine, or buying a Home edition when you needed Pro. Please check product compatibility carefully before purchasing. If you are unsure which product is right for you, consult our FAQs or contact us before buying.
- Change of mind after key delivery — Once your key has been delivered to your email address, we are unable to process a change-of-mind refund for digital goods.
- Compatibility issues due to system not meeting requirements — It is the customer’s responsibility to verify that their device meets the minimum system requirements for the software before purchasing.
4. Exchanges
We may be able to offer an exchange in the following situations:
- You purchased the wrong product (e.g. wrong edition or wrong platform) and the key has not been revealed or activation-attempted
- The product key delivered does not match your order
Exchange requests must be submitted within 30 days of your order date. After 30 days, we are unable to process exchanges.
To request an exchange, please contact our Help & Support Center with your order details and the reason for your request. Our team will assess your case and confirm whether an exchange is possible.
Note: Exchanges are at Wincdkey’s discretion and subject to product availability. We cannot exchange a product that has been revealed, activated, or partially used.
5. Wincdkey Wallet Credits
In cases where a full cash refund is not possible but a customer has experienced a genuine issue with their order, we may — at our discretion — offer a Wincdkey Wallet credit as an alternative resolution. Wallet credits can be applied to future purchases on wincdkey.com and do not expire.
If you believe a wallet credit would be a suitable resolution for your situation, please mention this when contacting our support team.
6. Product Key Activation Window
After purchasing a product key from Wincdkey, your key will remain valid until you are ready to use it — product keys do not expire simply by being held unused.
However, once you redeem or enter a voucher code where applicable, we recommend completing the full software activation promptly. If you experience any delay or difficulty during activation, contact our Help & Support Center immediately — do not leave an activation issue unresolved, as this may affect our ability to assist.

7. How Refunds Are Processed
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used at the time of purchase — credit card, debit card, or other payment method. Wincdkey processes approved refunds immediately on our side. The time taken for the credit to appear in your account depends entirely on your card issuer or bank, and typically takes 3–10 business days after our processing date.
You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed by Wincdkey.
8. How to Request a Refund or Exchange
To submit a refund or exchange request, please follow these steps:
- Visit our Help & Support Center
- Open a new support ticket describing your issue
- Include your order number, the product purchased, and a clear description of the problem
- If the key is not working, include the exact error message or code shown during activation
- Our support team will respond and guide you through the resolution process
We aim to respond to all support requests within 1 business day. Providing full details upfront — including your order number and error message — helps us resolve your case faster.
