Microsoft Outlook 2024 is the classic desktop Outlook as a one-time purchase. This licence covers one Windows PC and activates online, with no subscription. It handles email, calendar, contacts and tasks for Outlook.com, Gmail, Exchange and standard IMAP or POP accounts. It also fully supports offline mail and PST files, which many long-time Outlook users depend on.

Outlook 2024 or the free “new Outlook”: which do you need?

Buy Outlook 2024 if you rely on PST archives, work offline, use COM add-ins, or prefer the classic interface. The free new Outlook for Windows is a separate, web-based app. It suits light personal email, but it handles PST files, offline work and many business add-ins differently or less completely.

What can you do with Outlook 2024?

• Run several accounts in one place. Add Outlook.com, Gmail, Microsoft 365 or Exchange, and any IMAP or POP mailbox, each with its own folders.
• Keep years of mail on your own drive. PST data files and AutoArchive let you store old mail locally and search it.
• Automate a busy inbox. Use rules, Quick Steps, categories and search folders to sort mail as it arrives.
• Manage your calendar properly. Share calendars, use the Scheduling Assistant to find free slots, set up recurring meetings, and view several calendars side by side.
• Use the tools your work depends on. COM add-ins for CRMs, accounting packages and document management systems still run in classic Outlook.

Outlook 2024 does not include Copilot, which is only available with Microsoft 365 subscriptions. Microsoft supports it with security updates until 9 October 2029, the same date as the rest of Office 2024.

How do I install and activate Outlook 2024?

Install Outlook from the download link in your email, enter the key, and then add your mail accounts. The steps are below.

1. If you have a trial or a different Office version installed, remove it first under Settings > Apps. Mixing installation types can block setup.
2. Download the Outlook 2024 installer from the link in your order email and run it.
3. Open Outlook and enter the 25-character key when you are asked for it. The app then activates online.
4. Add your email account. For Gmail and Outlook.com, sign in when prompted. For other providers, use the IMAP or POP settings your provider gives you.
5. Check File > Office Account, where it should show Product Activated.

Moving from an older Outlook? Export your mail to a PST file there using File > Open & Export > Import/Export, then import it into Outlook 2024. Our installation and activation help page covers common setup problems.

Does Outlook 2024 work with Gmail?

Yes. Add your Gmail address and sign in through Google’s login window. Your mail, and optionally your calendar, syncs to Outlook, and you can use Outlook’s rules and folders on it.

Is Outlook 2024 available for Mac?

This licence is for Windows only. Mac users can get Outlook as part of Office Home & Business 2024, which runs on either a PC or a Mac.

Do I need Outlook 2024 if I already have Office Home & Business?

No. Office Home & Business 2024 already includes Outlook. Standalone Outlook 2024 is for people who only want Outlook, or whose Office version doesn’t include it, such as Office Home 2024.

Will it keep working after support ends?

Yes. The app keeps working after 9 October 2029, but it will no longer receive security updates. Because email is a common route for attacks, plan to move to a supported version around then.

Can I use it for business email?

Yes. Standalone Outlook 2024 can be used commercially, including with Exchange and Microsoft 365 business mailboxes.

What if the key doesn’t activate?

Take a screenshot of the error and open a support ticket. Keys that don’t activate are covered by our refund and replacement policy.
