AutoCAD LT 2027 for Mac is Autodesk’s macOS version of AutoCAD LT, a 2D-only CAD program for creating, editing and documenting drawings in DWG format. Does AutoCAD LT for Mac run on M1, M2, M3 and M4 Macs?
Yes. Autodesk lists Apple M-series processors as supported for AutoCAD LT for Mac, alongside 64-bit Intel. The 2027 release uses Metal as its only graphics engine, which every Apple silicon Mac supports.
Will this licence work on Windows?
No. This is the macOS edition. AutoCAD LT for Windows is a separate build with a different installer and some Windows-only cloud features, so buy the Windows edition if you draft on a PC.
Can I switch the licence to a new Mac?
Yes, normally. The licence is for 1 device at a time, so sign out of AutoCAD LT on your old Mac before signing in on the new one. If the Autodesk Account sign-in will not move across, contact us.
What happens after my year is up?
At the end of the year the software is no longer licensed and will not open for editing until you renew. Your DWG files stay on your Mac, readable in other DWG software, so your drawings are safe.

Can AutoCAD LT for Mac open drawings from Windows AutoCAD?
Yes. Both use the DWG format, so drawings from AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT for Windows and other DWG tools open directly. Objects created by Windows-only toolsets may appear as proxy objects, but plain 2D geometry, text and dimensions come across as normal.
